Versace Skirt from my Grandmother

This stunning skirt by legendary Versace is one of the biggest treasures that I got from my stylish grandmother Ida Fishbein! She purchased it during one of her trips to Italy and than saw the same skirt featured at Versace's museum!...and now its in my closet :) Feeling so blessed and lucky and can't wait for grandma to see my look.

Jason's Recipe: SPINACH SALAD

I am so excited to announce that my husband Jason who clearly owns naturally unbelievable cooking skills agreed to have a section on my blog and share some of my favorite recipes with you :) Yesterday I took beautiful shots of spectacular Italian dinner that he made, Spinach Salad served with Pan- seared Shrimp Pasta (next recipe on the blog).

SPINACH SALAD
wild mushroom, white asparagus, pancetta

Boil water in a medium sauce pan. Boil white asparagus for 2 minutes, then immediately place in ice water. Remove asparagus from ice water and let it dry.
Dice pancetta and saute with a touch of olive oil over medium heat until brown. Set pancetta aside to cool.

Reserve fat, add another dash of olive oil and saute wild mushrooms until brown. Set mushrooms aside to cool.

Mix spinach with a little bit of olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Top the spinach with the mushrooms, asparagus and pancetta and serve.

My 92 yr Grandmother!

Meet one of the most beautiful and inspiring women that I am so lucky to have in my life, my 92 year old grandmother in-law Ida Fishbein.

Every time I visit her I am amazed by her youthfulness, positive lifting spirit and timeless style. During my last trip to visit her in New York, I had the urge to interview my grandma and share her beauty secrets with you.

"So grandma, where did your love of fashion came from?"

"Clothing played a huge part in my life. My family couldn't afford clothing but luckily I had relatives that had a fashion company, occasionally they would send me stuff. Quickly it was clear that I had the eye to put things together and everybody was loving it... to the extent that at my High School graduation I was voted best dressed!

I love dressing up, I get the thrill out of it until this day. Even if no one can see under the jacket, just me...everything has to match and be perfect... including my makeup!"

"What's your beauty secret?"

"I loved dancing, music, traveling and shopping, enjoying life... oh, and having healthy marriage is key!"

"What's your advice to my friends who are always asking me how you are looking so young?"

"Healthy lifestyle, watching what I eat and always keeping a positive outlook. And don't forget, lots and lots of moisturizing!"

TOAST FOR HOLIDAYS

Although the snow storm hit Chicago this year on my holiday party again, it didn't stop the fun :) We had a fantastic time celebrating, toasting, laughing and shopping.

I couldn't be more grateful to have all my fabulous friends, clients and followers that inspired me to do what I love the most and what I feel like I was born to do!
