STATEMENT COAT

For a fashionsta who lives in a winter city, investing in a statement coat is a really great idea. Simply beacuse we are wearing coats at least 1/3 of the year so we may as well have some fun with it. Thanks to Blake boutique Chicago, I discovered this Fausto Puglisi fabulous coat on sale! This is an ideal piece to add some color to my mostly black and wardrobe and perfect for me to wear during and after pregnancy :)

COAT FAUSTO PUGLISI   //  RAFFLE DRESS  BARAK LAHAV  //   BAG ALEXANDER MQUEEN   //  TIGHTS GAL STERN   //   BOOTIES BALENCIAGA  (Blake Chicago on sale)  //  NECKLACE TEL AVIV COUTURE  //  RING TEL AVIV COUTURE

Items that I wear on a daily basis, I like investing in high end designers (especially if they are on sale).  Most of them keep pretty high value which always give me an opportunity to sell and buy a new one, almost like borrowing. But I have also found some great deals for you below.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you have a warm and happy week!

ISRAELI FASHION'S RISING STAR, MEET BARAK LAHAV

There is nothing quite like the excitement of discovering new talent - especially when it comes from my homeland Israel.
This time the discovery was easy as Barak Lahav brought his entire collection all the way from Israel to my showroom in Chicago.

I was amazed by his ambition, creativity, hard work, and of course couldn't resist the opportunity to interview Barak for my blog.

When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer?

Since I remember myself at all. When I was a little kid I was drawing my mom’s dresses during breakfast.

You mentioned that so far you launched 4 collections; what's your favorite piece?

The jumper from my last collection! This was a true challenge for me as it was the first pant I ever designed. I put a tremendous amount of work into it and it ended up being my best selling item.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

As much as it's challenging to be an emerging designer in Israel, I hope to be recognized worldwide and to continue living my dream.

What's your inspiration as a designer? Who is your idol?

I am inspired a lot by street fashion and what I see on social media. I am a huge fan of Instagram. Alber Elbaz is my idol, I adore his style and every single detail in his designs.

What is the “must-have item" every woman should own?

Put that hat on! It’s just amazing what wonders this accessory can do to your outfit. I was looking for a piece to complete looks for my last photo shoot and a hat I found in an Israeli flea market was the perfect complement!

I am thrilled to welcome Barak Lahav on telavivcouture.com
For those of you who live in or are visiting Chicago, you can make an appointment to see his collection at my showroom. (email tali@telavivcouture.com to make an appointment)
For those that live in or are visiting Israel, Barak will be making an appearance at the amazing Limka boutique this weekend! (2 Shlomo Hamelech St)

In my next blog post I will be featuring one of my favorite pieces from Barak's Lahav collection.
I love the loose yet chic style of his Ruffle dress as I can comfortably wear it while expecting my baby boy :)  Here is a sneak peek.

VEST AND LAYERS

When it comes to styling an outfit while weather is below zero, I am thinking layers and vests. I already mentioned in this blog my obsession with vests and even had a dedicated post Invet in Vest
I love it because vest adds so much chic and spins around the entire look.
I suggest to invest in neutral colors such as black or white, it will make your styling decisions easy. And try layering it on anything, including, jackets, button downs, cardigans, dresses and coats! Here I layered mine on button down and jacket.

PS None of the featured pieces are maternity clothing yet. I am about 20 weeks pregnant and am trying to be creative with my existing wardrobe.

ALL ABOUT DRAMA HAT

This look made an appearance at the dose market post,  as I shot it same day. I was about 15 weeks pregnant and still tried to hide my bump which probably wouldn't be possible today.  The cozy cropped sweater and flair style skirt hopefully did the job. To assure Iaccomplished my goal and to stay warm, I layered it with fury vest. Since I wanted to redirect the attention away from my waist area, I finished this look with my new favorite drama hat.
