NEW MUST HAVE WARDROBE STAPLE

Who doesn't like gifts?!? I do, but after my 35th birthday I realized I should be the one picking out my own gifts. When I turned 35, my dear husband decided to give me a very fancy magnifying mirror. He thought that I would love looking into this beautiful mirror like a princess, but all I could see when I gazed into that mirror were my new wrinkles. LOL! This is when it was decided that even though I love surprises, I would strongly prefer to choose my own gifts, not to mention that I am very particular about my purchases especially when it comes to clothing and accessories.

Although I have had this conversation with my husband, he still took it upon himself to surprise me with some pieces from his most recent trip to Europe. This time, however, he gifted me with something that I absolutely adore and couldn’t wait to feature on my blog.

Let me introduce you to one of my new favorite additions, this gorgeous below the knee button-down shirt/cardigan/dust jacket. I am not usually fond of prints nor will you find any brown in my closet, but this piece seamlessly blends in with my wardrobe!

Jason told me it’s a cover up for the pool, but I have found it to be much more versatile. It’s simple to throw on not just over a swimsuit, but also denim shorts like I did here, or even a little white dress. It adds instant sophistication to a casual, but well put together outfit.

A friend of mine once told me that when she finds something that she loves, she sends her husband a picture of it so that he has options to choose from. Then when he gives it to her, it is still a surprise as she doesn't know which option he chose. Although I love this new top from Europe and the fact that Jason surprised me, I am going to adopt my friend’s method when it comes to gifts. How about you? How do you prefer to receive gifts?

This particular cardigan is not available online, but I found some other great options for you below that I love!

DRESSING CHIC STYLE TIPS

One question that I have been asked many times is, what is the secret to dressing chic. I wish I had an easy answer for that. However,  I am happy to share some of my personal styling guidelines with you.

First, identifying your favorite style and make it your own. I am sure you noticed the black and white affair I been having this year. This was a big change, as I am used to wearing tons of color. It's not that I won't wear color ever again. But it will most likely be one tone, or black & white with some color as I am wearing here black, white and gray.

Look for unique pieces that are not too over the top. The cape that I am wearing in this post is a great example of one that instantly transforms any look to ultra chic.

Invest in fabulous accessories, such as new styles of shades and a great bag that will go with your entire wardrobe. My current favorite brands of shades are Illesteva and Super.

I hope you are inspired. Plenty more style tips you can find here on my blog.

Stay warm & stylish!

HOLIDAY GIFTS INSPIRATION

The most exciting time of the year is here! This means that two big questions are floating in my head, what to gift and what to get for myself?
Holiday sales are awesome but can also be very confusing. The key is to have a list and stick to it. Don't let the sales distract you from what you really need.

Looking for some inspiration? Check out some ideas below.

Each of these items serves a different purpose and ultimately makes that special someone take on the new year in style. Whether it's unique piece of jewelry, scarf or hint of eye shadow, these are the perfect gifts to give both you and others that extra boost.

Scarves are always a great idea! They're versatile and stylish gifts that anyone can use.
Favorite beauty products
These are great gifts that you can work with at any budget. My latest obsession is Rica body butter, and while working on this post I found it on sale for only $5.97!

Chic finds and great deals
I especially would like to point out to the Coach cross-body bags. I got mine at the beginning of the season and it became my go to casual cross body. On the blog it made several appearances here and here and now its on sale!

I am also loving H&M collection this season and those killer Alexander Wang booties that are also on sale!

I hope you got some great ideas :)

Happy Hanukkah!

LEATHER ON LEATHER AND LOVE FROM POPSUGAR

All my recent attempts to photoshoot new look failed due to weather in Chicago. So instead, I decided to pull some inspiration from 2013 exactly same time of the year. And there is an exciting reason why I decided to go with this look.

First, Popsugar chose this look for their feature of
Thank you Popsugar, I am so flattered!

Second, as much as my style evolved during this blogging career, I could still wear this outfit today. And, I still find myself incorporating vests in many different ways while styling myself or clients. In this outfit, I wore furry vest under jacket to keep me warm and to make this red leather jacket a little bit more luxurious.

WEEKEND IN NEW YORK

Last weekend was Leonix's first trip on the plane to NYC.
Some say its crazy to travel with a little baby. I think it's the easiest age and thankfully Leonix confirmed this completely, at least this time :)

This trip was a huge success with plenty of highlights and memories!

First, spending time with family and friends from NYC was very special.

Second, the golden autumn at the Central Park was simply magical.

Third is shopping:) This trip wouldn't be complete without a little bit of shopping. My time was extremely limited so I used it toward unique shop where I always find something different, NY3. And  as always, they didn't disappoint.

The cape and dress that I am wearing in the image above are both from NY3.
I also scored there my new favorite Chanel iPhone case :)

More pictures and my finds are posted on Instagram and more to come on the blog.

Hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend!

GINDI TEL AVIV FASHION WEEK 2015

Sadly I couldn't make it to Gindi Tel Aviv Fashion week but from what I have seen, read and heard I am making a commitment to not miss it next year!

Its unbelievable how this industry have been changing since I started Tel Aviv Couture, almost 7 years ago! Seeing this, I am so inspired to expand and to produce many more fashion events in the US to support Israel's brilliant talents.

My childhood friend Luba Jakobson who have been managing her personal lifestyle blog from Tel Aviv attended big portion of shows and covered the event in her blog here.
There is nothing better than getting a review from your best friend who also inspired me in so many different ways during this exciting journey.

BLACK BLAZER

One of wardrobe staples that every women should own is a perfectly fitted black blazer. It's one of those essentials that will go with pretty much anything and makes the entire look pulled perfectly together.
One of my favorite ways styling it is with ripped denim. For a dressier outfit here I paired it with lace shirt and white jeans. I chose this top because of this beautiful lace sleeve detail that I love.

FASHION AND THE CITY

Last Friday I attended a spectacular runway show, The Art of Fashion organized by Style Chicago in the Millennium Park. I love this annual fashion show because it supports Chicago's based talent and because it's a great reason to dress up and to get inspired by all the beautiful people and fashions in Chicago!
The big question is what to wear for an event like this?
This time, the decision was easy. I was waiting for an opportunity to finally wear Persy dress that I purchased in Israel at the very beginning of my pregnancy and didn't have much chance to wear it yet. I couldn't be more happier with this choice.

Unfortunately this dress is no longer available as its from Summer 2014. But you can recreate this look with your favorite dress, maxi coat and contrasting color boots.

MEET UKRAINIAN DESIGNER OKSANA KARAVANSKA

I had an amazing time in Chicago with my parents who came from Israel to meet their very new grandson, baby Leonix. We have done many memorable things together as this city have so much to offer! But one of the highlights that I want to share with you was taking my mom to an Ukrainian fashion show featuring Oksana Karavanska.

The show that was held at the rooftop of Godfrey with breathtaking Chicago skyline was extraordinary! The aesthetics of the collection are beautifully reflect the Ukrainian culture and traditional hand stitched embroidery while being updated with fashion forward elements.
Hair and make up complimented all looks perfectly. And incorporating denim in this couture presentation is exactly how I would style those timeless pieces to create that interesting contrast of historical culture and modern approach.

As someone who was born in Ukraine, I was so excited and proud to meet Oksana Karavanska. After all my love to fashion started from my gorgeous Mama and my roots from Ukraine.
It was so special to share this experience with my mom!

While Oksana Karavanska online shop in the development stages, you can visit her Facebook page and order directly by phone +380993148050
