THE CLASSIC DRESS THAT NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE

October is a month that will go down in history as one that Chicagoans will cherish and remember forever. It all started with our beloved Chicago Cubs winning the World Series and now we are experiencing the most beautiful autumn we have ever had! Speaking of this weather, I have to let you in on a little secret: dressing for the cool autumn weather is by far my favorite!

There are so many incredible endless fashion options for this lovely crisp weather, but today I would like to focus on one piece in particular: the wrap tie silhouette dress. For years I have been styling my clients in timeless DVF wrap tie silhouette dresses, but I have never gotten this kind of dress for myself - until now! When I tried on this one on by Israeli Designer, Shany Dahan, I knew it was going to be the one! I love the knotted lace and slit that adds even more sex appeal to the already feminine silhouette.

Silhouette wrap dresses are so fantastic because they flatter any body shape. Honestly, everyone looks good in one! They can also be layered with a pretty turtleneck or button down shirt.

Here I finished off the look with this leather jacket and how cute are these Balenciaga booties!? I decided on them to keep the entire look black while letting the gorgeous autumn day fill the background with her beautiful colors.

MY STYLING SECRET FOR TRANSITIONING FROM SUMMER TO FALL FOR UNDER $30

Have you updated your Fall wardrobe yet? Don't worry I have this part covered for you! When the temperature begins to drop, we often turn to our winter clothes immediately, but oversized sweaters don’t always have to be the go-to for Fall weather, my friends! You will be pleasantly surprised by one of favorite styling tips for transitioning from Summer to Fall: laying a basic turtleneck with favorite summer pieces that we are not ready to put away just yet.


From dresses to jumpers, an easy, affordable, and stylish trick is to add a turtleneck under anything to lose the chill, but keep the cute look. Take it one step further and style the layered combo so you can move effortlessly from day into night.

Here I was out with my babes in New York. For this look, I layered my go-to white turtleneck from Zara under my new Thakoonny jumper, a steal from Ikram Chicago. Adding this classy essential to my wardrobe at an incredibly affordable price, $29, was an easy decision to make. I especially love the gold button sleeve detail! To finish off this look, I topped it with a leader jacket, another essential piece for the season. Anytime I can be out on the town with these two cuties while being comfortable and chic, I consider that a win-win! 



And a turtleneck is such a warm, comfy AND versatile piece! By pairing it with a skirt or dress pants, you can have a clean, elegant look that is both timeless and chic.

SUPER STYLISH DRESS FOR YOUR LITTLE GIRL

As a mom who loves fashion, I adore dressing Katya in cute and trendy kids clothing and love when she tags along on my photoshoots. Although she has been surrounded by fashion her whole life and often watches me working as a personal stylist, up until now she has had almost no interest in fashion or photography, so I didn’t force it at all. However recently, she has been very into dressing up and playing around with her own style. It seems lately her favorite thing to do is to match her outfits with mine – how sweet!

Needless to say, Katya was super excited for this photo shoot especially because she loves this dress. I am wearing Haute Hippie lace jumper from few years ago. Having a black jumper as a staple in your wardrobe is definitely something I recommend. It’s actually the first time that I decided to go for a more relaxed casual look with this jumper and I have to say, I am loving it! Later on I added an oversized jacket (try also denim) and white sneaks. Katya and I are moving right along into the fall season with old & new favorites!

TRANSITIONING IN TO FALL + GIVEAWAY

When it comes to styling myself during the summer I tend to reach for dresses, skirts, or shorts. However, as we are transitioning slowly to the fall season, I decided to experiment with something different - my old favorite satin joggers by Israeli designer, Anya Fleet. To stick with style code proportions, I paired them with this gingham top that I love (on sale now, scroll down for link). I was heading out for a lunch meeting so I completed this look with a pair of fabulous mule sandal. Later on when I went for a stroll with my babes, I switched to white sneakers.Now can we please talk about this super cute hand fan by Israeli designer, Fancy Hand Fan?! Believe me, you need one of these! LIFTING MY SPIRITS ONE HEEL AT THE TIME

As you know by now, my style has shifted over the last year from colors to basics. Black, white, and gray have taken over my wardrobe and more flats have found a place to call home in my closet. However, when I have a rough morning or a bad day, heels and colors swiftly return back into my life. 

When I purchased these gorg heels by Ferragamo Capsule collection, I was actually having a pretty miserable day – the kind that calls for some retail therapy. I bought them on a cold winter day when I was dreaming of summer and sunshine and couldn’t wait to wear them! 

When I have a bad day, I always reach for the most colorful shoes as they instantly lift my spirits and brighten my mood. The endless compliments I receive while wearing them doesn’t hurt either :wink: 

Since these heels are a fashion statement unto themselves, I like to give them center stage so I am always sure to pair them with a simple look, usually keeping to one-tone with a neutral lip and messy braid to finish off this joyful, stylish, yet elegant look.

NEW MUST HAVE WARDROBE STAPLE

Who doesn't like gifts?!? I do, but after my 35th birthday I realized I should be the one picking out my own gifts. When I turned 35, my dear husband decided to give me a very fancy magnifying mirror. He thought that I would love looking into this beautiful mirror like a princess, but all I could see when I gazed into that mirror were my new wrinkles. LOL! This is when it was decided that even though I love surprises, I would strongly prefer to choose my own gifts, not to mention that I am very particular about my purchases especially when it comes to clothing and accessories.

Although I have had this conversation with my husband, he still took it upon himself to surprise me with some pieces from his most recent trip to Europe. This time, however, he gifted me with something that I absolutely adore and couldn’t wait to feature on my blog. 

Let me introduce you to one of my new favorite additions, this gorgeous below the knee button-down shirt/cardigan/dust jacket. I am not usually fond of prints nor will you find any brown in my closet, but this piece seamlessly blends in with my wardrobe! 

Jason told me it’s a cover up for the pool, but I have found it to be much more versatile. It’s simple to throw on not just over a swimsuit, but also denim shorts like I did here, or even a little white dress. It adds instant sophistication to a casual, but well put together outfit. 

A friend of mine once told me that when she finds something that she loves, she sends her husband a picture of it so that he has options to choose from. Then when he gives it to her, it is still a surprise as she doesn't know which option he chose. Although I love this new top from Europe and the fact that Jason surprised me, I am going to adopt my friend’s method when it comes to gifts. How about you? How do you prefer to receive gifts?
